Night Agent Privacy Notice
Effective Date: August 14, 2026
Night Agent is operated by CedriXSolutions LLC ("CedriXSolutions LLC," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Notice explains how information is handled when you visit the Night Agent website, contact us, purchase or activate a license, use the customer licensing portal, or use the Night Agent software.
The Short Version
Night Agent is designed to run locally on your computer.
Your firewall credentials, firewall configurations, configuration backups, snapshots, upgrade logs, reports, device inventory, command output, and run history remain on the computer where Night Agent is installed.
Night Agent does not transmit that information to CedriXSolutions LLC.
Night Agent communicates with CedriXSolutions LLC for limited licensing functions. Those communications involve a license identifier and a pseudonymous machine fingerprint. Device-limited licenses may also send a pseudonymous device identifier.
Like any Internet service, our licensing infrastructure also receives the public IP address from which a licensing request originates.
Night Agent may separately communicate with Palo Alto Networks' public services to obtain security-advisory information.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or operate an advertising or behavioral-tracking network.
1. Information You Provide to Us
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide through our website, purchasing process, licensing portal, or communications with us.
This may include:
- Your name
- Work email address
- Company or organization name
- Information about the approximate size of your firewall environment
- Whether your organization uses Panorama
- Information you voluntarily provide in forms, emails, or support requests
- Licensing information
- Purchase and transaction-related information
We use this information to:
- Respond to inquiries
- Provide Night Agent trials or licenses
- Process and administer licenses
- Provide technical and customer support
- Communicate regarding purchases, licenses, renewals, accounts, or requested services
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Maintain appropriate business, accounting, and transaction records
- Enforce our Terms of Use
We do not use this information to create advertising profiles.
2. What We Do Not Do With Your Personal Information
We do not:
- Sell or rent your personal information
- Provide your information to third parties for their own marketing purposes
- Use your information for targeted advertising
- Add you to unrelated marketing lists without your consent
- Use your information to create advertising profiles across unrelated websites or services
3. Purchases and Payment Processing
Payments for Night Agent may be processed by a third-party payment processor such as Stripe.
The payment processor may collect information necessary to complete a transaction, including payment-card details, billing information, and other transaction information, in accordance with its own privacy practices.
CedriXSolutions LLC does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code.
We may receive limited transaction information from our payment processor, such as:
- Customer name
- Email address
- Company information, if provided
- Transaction identifier
- Product or license purchased
- Payment status
- Subscription or renewal status
- Transaction date
- Transaction amount
We use this information to process purchases, issue and administer licenses, provide support, maintain financial records, prevent fraud, and resolve payment disputes or chargebacks.
4. Website Information
The Night Agent website does not intentionally use advertising trackers or behavioral analytics.
Unless otherwise stated on the website, we do not use tracking cookies to follow visitors across unrelated websites.
Like most Internet services, our hosting and web infrastructure may automatically receive standard information when a request is made, such as:
- Public IP address
- Date and time
- Requested page or resource
- Browser or client information
- HTTP status information
- Information associated with suspected abuse or security events
We may use this information for security, reliability, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
We do not use website server logs for advertising or behavioral profiling.
5. Website Forms
Forms on our website may be processed through a third-party form-handling provider.
When you submit a form, the information you enter is transmitted through that provider so it can be delivered to us.
Such providers process information as service providers supporting the operation of our website.
We do not authorize them to use information submitted through Night Agent forms for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
6. License Activation and Validation
When Night Agent is activated, and periodically while an activated license is in use, the application communicates with CedriXSolutions LLC' licensing infrastructure.
Licensing requests contain:
- Your Night Agent license key or license identifier
- A pseudonymous machine fingerprint associated with the computer on which Night Agent is installed
An unactivated installation does not perform periodic license check-ins.
Under normal operation, an activated installation checks its license approximately every four hours.
Additional licensing requests may occur when:
- You activate Night Agent
- You manually refresh license status
- The application needs to verify licensing information for an operation
The normal frequency may change in future versions where reasonably necessary for licensing, security, or reliability.
We use licensing information to:
- Activate licenses
- Validate licenses
- Determine activation and expiration status
- Enforce applicable installation, device, or feature limits
- Prevent fraudulent or unauthorized license use
- Investigate suspected licensing-system circumvention
- Administer purchases, renewals, refunds, cancellations, and payment disputes
- Provide licensing support
- Enforce applicable provisions of our Terms of Use
The machine fingerprint is used to distinguish an activated installation for licensing purposes.
It is not used for advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking activity across unrelated services.
7. Device-Count Enforcement
Certain Night Agent licenses, including trial licenses, may limit the number of firewall devices on which Night Agent may operate.
When such a limit applies, Night Agent may transmit:
- The applicable Night Agent license identifier
- The machine fingerprint associated with the Night Agent installation
- A pseudonymous device hash associated with the firewall
The device identifier is generated using a cryptographic SHA-256 hash based on information associated with the firewall device and the applicable Night Agent license.
The raw firewall serial number is not transmitted to CedriXSolutions LLC.
The resulting identifier allows our licensing service to determine whether a firewall has already been counted against the applicable license.
Because information associated with the applicable license is incorporated when generating the identifier, the same firewall used under another Night Agent license is designed to produce a different identifier.
We do not use device identifiers:
- For advertising
- For behavioral analytics
- To monitor firewall activity
- To create a customer network inventory
- To determine firewall management IP addresses or hostnames
- To obtain firewall configurations or credentials
- As a universal identifier across different customer licenses
Licenses without a device-count restriction do not need to transmit this identifier for device-count enforcement.
8. Information Automatically Received by the Licensing Server
When Night Agent communicates with our licensing infrastructure, our server and supporting web infrastructure automatically receive certain information associated with the Internet request.
This may include:
- The public IP address from which the request originated
- Date and time of the request
- Licensing endpoint requested
- HTTP response status information
- Basic HTTP client information, such as User-Agent
The most recently observed public IP address may be associated with an activation record for:
- Security
- Licensing administration
- Troubleshooting
- Fraud prevention
- Investigation of licensing abuse
Night Agent does not intentionally include a firewall's management IP address, firewall hostname, or internal network addressing in its licensing requests.
The source IP visible to our licensing infrastructure represents the Internet connection from which Night Agent reached our server and does not necessarily identify a managed firewall.
We do not use this information for advertising or behavioral profiling.
9. Licensing Server Logs
Our licensing infrastructure maintains access and security logs that may contain:
- Public source IP address
- Request timestamp
- Requested endpoint
- HTTP response status
- User-Agent
- Other basic HTTP request information
We use these logs for:
- Security monitoring
- Troubleshooting
- Diagnosing service failures
- Investigating abuse or attempted attacks
- Maintaining reliability of the licensing service
Licensing-server access logs are retained for up to 30 days and may be deleted sooner through normal log rotation.
We do not use licensing-server logs to monitor how customers administer their firewall environments.
10. Information Night Agent Does Not Send to CedriXSolutions LLC
Night Agent is designed so that CedriXSolutions LLC does not receive through its licensing service:
- Firewall administrator usernames
- Firewall administrator passwords
- Firewall API keys or authentication tokens
- Firewall configurations
- Configuration backups
- Device snapshots
- Upgrade logs
- Upgrade reports
- Command output
- Run history
- Firewall management IP addresses
- Firewall hostnames
- Firewall inventory
- Raw firewall serial numbers
- Network topology information
- Firewall traffic logs
- Firewall security policies or rules
- Details of user activity within the Night Agent interface
- Behavioral analytics
- Product-usage telemetry
The limited licensing and HTTP request information expressly described in this Privacy Notice is transmitted separately from the firewall information processed locally by Night Agent.
11. Palo Alto Networks Security Advisory Queries
Night Agent may query public services provided by Palo Alto Networks to identify known security advisories or vulnerabilities affecting a PAN-OS release.
Such requests may include information such as the applicable PAN-OS version.
These communications are made with Palo Alto Networks rather than CedriXSolutions LLC and may be processed according to Palo Alto Networks' own privacy and security practices.
CedriXSolutions LLC does not control the data-handling practices of Palo Alto Networks or other third-party services.
12. How Firewall Credentials Are Stored
Saving firewall credentials in Night Agent is optional.
When you choose to store credentials, Night Agent uses operating-system credential-protection mechanisms to protect stored information and associate it with the applicable local user account.
Stored firewall credentials are designed to remain on the computer running Night Agent.
Night Agent is designed so that stored firewall credentials:
- Are not transmitted to CedriXSolutions LLC
- Are not intentionally included in Night Agent application logs
- Are not intentionally displayed through the application's web interface
- Can be removed through the application
You remain responsible for securing the computer, server, operating-system account, and network environment on which Night Agent is installed.
13. Retention of Licensing Information
We retain licensing information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and protect Night Agent's licensing system and satisfy legitimate licensing, security, support, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution requirements.
Public IP Addresses Associated With Activations
Our licensing system stores only the most recently recorded public IP address associated with an activation rather than maintaining a history of every IP address used by that activation.
The stored IP address is normally cleared when either:
- The installation has not checked in for approximately 90 days, or
- An expiring license has been expired for approximately 90 days
A subsequent check-in from an active installation may cause the current public IP address to be recorded again.
Activation Records
For licenses with an expiration date, activation records are normally deleted approximately 18 months after the license expires.
Activation records associated with active perpetual licenses may be retained while the license remains active.
Device-Count Records
For licenses with an expiration date, pseudonymous device-count records are normally deleted approximately 18 months after the license expires.
Records associated with an active perpetual license may be retained while needed to administer that license.
Login and Purchase Verification Records
Temporary login and purchase-verification records that have been used or have expired are normally deleted within approximately 30 days.
Web Server Access Logs
Licensing-server access logs are retained for up to 30 days and may be deleted sooner through normal log rotation.
Transaction and Accounting Records
Completed purchase, order, invoice, payment, and related transaction records may be retained for longer periods where reasonably necessary for:
- Accounting
- Tax obligations
- Financial recordkeeping
- Fraud prevention
- Chargeback or payment disputes
- Contract enforcement
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims
- Other applicable legal obligations
Information may also be retained longer where reasonably necessary to investigate a security incident, comply with law, respond to lawful process, or resolve an active dispute.
14. Customer Network Data
Firewall configurations, configuration backups, snapshots, reports, upgrade logs, run history, and other information originating from your network environment remain under your control.
Using Night Agent does not transfer ownership of this information to CedriXSolutions LLC.
Night Agent is designed so that this information remains on the computer where Night Agent is installed rather than being transmitted to CedriXSolutions LLC.
15. Service Providers
We may use third-party service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Night Agent and our business.
These may include providers of:
- Website hosting
- Cloud or server infrastructure
- Form processing
- Payment processing
- License infrastructure
- Security services
- Business administration services
These providers may process limited information on our behalf to perform their services.
We do not authorize service providers to sell personal information supplied to them by CedriXSolutions LLC or use it for their own targeted advertising.
16. When We May Disclose Information
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary:
- To service providers performing services on our behalf
- To process payments
- To administer licenses
- To provide requested support
- To comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or lawful governmental request
- To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Use
- To protect the rights, property, security, or safety of CedriXSolutions LLC, our customers, or others
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law
We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
17. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
However, no computer system, network, software application, storage system, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for the computer, server, operating system, accounts, network, and firewall environments on which Night Agent operates.
18. Your Privacy Rights

CedriXSolutions LLC does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
We do not use personal information collected through Night Agent for targeted advertising based on activity across unrelated websites or services.
If these practices materially change in the future, we will update this Privacy Notice and provide any notice or opt-out mechanism required by applicable law before implementing the applicable practice.
20. International Users
Night Agent may be used by customers outside the United States.
If you submit information to CedriXSolutions LLC from another country, that information may be processed or stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

22. Third-Party Services
Night Agent may communicate with or link to third-party services, including services operated by Palo Alto Networks, payment processors, form providers, or other service providers.
CedriXSolutions LLC does not control the privacy, security, availability, or data-handling practices of independent third-party services.
Their handling of information is governed by their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
23. Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice as our software, services, legal obligations, or data-handling practices change.
The current version will be posted on our website with an updated effective date.
We periodically review this Privacy Notice to ensure it continues to reflect our practices.
